Roxboro Sharks: ASA Divisionals at Georgia Tech on Thursday June 28

    Hello Sharks,

You are receiving this email as your swimmer(s) are signed up to swim the ASA Divisionals at Georgia Tech on Thursday, June 28. Please read this email carefully as there is a lot of important information included.

We will have all age groups combined practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10-11am, for ONLY those swimmers registered to swim at Georgia Tech on Thursday.

Our assigned warm up time is 7:30-7:50am. This is very early, I know. But if your swimmer wants to warm up before the meet, this is his/her only option. If your swimmer decides not to participate in the warmups, you will need to arrive by 8am. Traffic and parking around Georgia Tech can be challenging so please plan accordingly. We have been assigned team seating in the upper stands this year. Coach Jennifer and I will plan to arrive early and secure an area for our swimmers in section 207 or 209 of the upper stands (left side when facing the pools). Look for us there. You can sit with us or leave your swimmer and go find seating with a better viewing advantage over boys or girls competition pools. The boys will swim all events in the pool to the left, the girls in the middle pool and no competitions will be in the diving well on the right side. http://atlantaswimming.com/Portals/0/Documents/NAS...

Please let us know now if your swimmer is not available to swim in the Finals on Saturday. We are fined per event, per swimmer if you are a no-show on Saturday. Please let us know now so that we can avoid the fine and possibly allow the next qualified swimmer a chance to swim in the Finals.

Things you can do before you arrive. Pack at least two dry towels and lots of water/drinks and healthy snacks. There is a concession stand in the Aquatic Center but the lines are long. Pack some things to keep your swimmer entertained, books, coloring books, games, etc. Prepare your swimmer(s) that they will have to walk up and down the back hallway stairs to get to the pool deck with a coach. Parents are not allowed on the pool deck. Remind your swimmers, it is imperative for them to stay with our team bullpen between races. Swimmers have missed races because our coaches could not find them in our team bullpen. If they need to leave our bullpen for any reason, they need to let a coach know first.

For our swimmers 12 and under, a coach will escort them to the event bullpen on the deck. From there, the swimmers will be instructed by the ASA volunteers where to go and when to line up for their race. The swimmers can not leave the event bullpen after they have been checked in. After each race, one of our coaches will meet our swimmers and bring them back up to our team bullpen in the stands. For the swimmers 13 and up, they will go straight to the blocks for their events. NO swimmers are allowed to "loiter" on the deck.

Just a reminder that parking at Georgia Tech is unfortunately not free. You can save a little money if you prepay for your parking and get your pass in advance, please visit the following link https://gatech.clickandpark.com/ . Parking is $12 per day for the event. Due to construction around campus and the recent removal of one lane side of Tech Parkway, we will likely be unable to provide the usual 1 parking pass per team, we have a very limited number of parking passes for our meet staff and officials compared to years past and unfortunately will not have leftovers for the teams.

Please only buy the day you need and make sure you select the correct day (we swim on Day 2/Thursday, and Finals are Day 4/Saturday), no one will need an All Day pass. The cost for the advance passes is $12. If you do not prepay for parking you will need cash to park, the cost is $15 at the gate. Please be sure to share this info with your teams. A map to the area around the Aquatic Center can be found at :

I realize this is the first time for many of you to swim the ASA Divisionals. It can seem overwhelming as it is a huge meet with lots of teams and swimmers. But, the league has been doing this for a long time and they have done just about everything they can possibly do to make it as fun and safe for everyone. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.

    Thank you,

    Jennifer Entrekin
