2022 Roxboro Sharks / first practice is tomorrow, Monday May 16
Hello Sharks,
It is less than 24 hours until our first team practice! I say this every year, and it holds true year after year, "I don't know if there is anyone more excited than I am."
Head Coach William Carnegie, and Noah Daniels, Evelyn Entrekin, Eli MacLane, Nellie Phillips, Kate Cunningham, Mary Entrekin, Virginia Jane Hultgren, Libby O’Donnell and Grogan Phillips have been hard at work during the off season preparing to meet our Sharks at every level and give them a fun and safe experience with summer swim season.
The weather looks great for practices this week. But, as everyone knows, weather can rapidly change in Atlanta. I will try to send out emails if we cancel practice for the entire afternoon due to weather. But it is always my hope to get some portion of practices in. Come with a great attitude and willingness to change with the weather. Pack extra dry towels and warm clothes in case of cooler evening temps or cloudy skies.
School is still in session, so if it was a super hard day at school or there is a major test the next day, stay home and rest or prepare. School always comes first.
Make the best decisions for your family. If it is too much to come for a maybe practice with dark clouds and thunder, stay home and cuddle up for the evening. If it was a hard day at school, stay home and rest or study for tomorrow.
We want swim team to be fun for everyone. Swimmers, siblings, parents, caregivers ... we want it to be fun for everyone.
A reminder about parking at Roxboro. We have a lot of Sharks coming and going for practices. NEVER park in an unmarked spot in the parking lot. ALWAYS park on the incoming right hand side of Roxboro Drive if you can't find a spot in the lot. This is an ABSOLUTE must as we have to maintain a clear access to the pool for emergency vehicles. Those vehicles can not navigate Roxboro Drive if cars are parked on both sides. Please don't be that family car that makes a selfish decision that could jeopardize a fellow Roxboro family in the case of an emergency. Thank you.
May/Afterschool practice schedule. Beginning Monday May 16 thru Thursday May 26, every Monday-Thursday afternoon.
