Hello Sharks!

Our meet#5 at Georgetown is MONDAY June 27, yes that is MONDAY not our usual Tuesday evening.

The address is 1465 Old Spring House Lane Dunwoody, GA 30338 Please respect the reserved parking and/or no parking signs they have posted in their neighborhood. They ask that families park only on the south side of Old Springhouse Lane and on the grass side along Old Georgetown Trail to allow for emergency vehicle access.

Sharks arrive at 4:30pm for markups, Sharks in the water for warmups at 5pm, and meet starts at 5:30pm promptly.

Georgetown has a concession stand and they take cash and Venmo. “We will have a variety of goodies at our concession stand up at the clubhouse deck so come hungry! We’ll be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, Chick-fil-A, BBQ, pizza, pasta salad, watermelon, Yogli Mogli, chips, brownies, Rice Krispie treats, soda, sports drinks, etc. Tell your team they may bring water bottles to utilize our water refilling station on deck.”

Thank you to the 51 Sharks that swam a combined total of 1,712 laps in our annual LapAThon with Swim Across America to support the Aflac Children Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Our last full team practice is Monday June 27, 8-11am.  Tuesday and Wednesday morning practices are for ONLY those swimmers signed up to swim the ASA Championship.  Ribbons from the Georgetown meet will be available for pickup at the Season End Celebration.  

We still have a few 2022 Sharks t-shirts, pre-ordered bags and towels to be collected.  You can pick those up at meet#5 Volunteer Check-In table on Monday or at the Season End Celebration on Thursday.  

Below is a copy of the note sent from Kay Alexander about season end gifts for Coach William, Noah, Evelyn, Nellie, Asa, Kate, Mary, Virginia Jane, Libby and Grogan. The coaches love handwritten notes and pictures from the swimmers, too!

“Hello Sharks! It’s already time to think about the end of swim season with our last meets next week. As a thank-you to Coach William and the wonderful, committed team of coaches I’m collecting money for a gift for them to be given at the team party next Thursday. No pressure to give, but if you’d like to contribute you can Venmo me: @Kay-Alexander or bring cash to the meet this Monday. I will be at the volunteer sign-in table. Thank you and Go Sharks!! 🦈” 

We are taking 40 Sharks to Georgia Tech on Thursday June 30 for the ASA Championship. Go Sharks! Please be sure to think FAST SWIMMING thoughts for those Sharks on Thursday morning.

Our Roxboro Sharks Swim & Dive Season End Celebration is Thursday June 30, 5-8pm. We will present our awards at 6pm. The upper portion of the parking lot, and a few other parking spots will be closed this date. Please do not park beyond the orange cones on this date. Please do not double park. Please do not block driveways or mailboxes. Please only park on the right hand side of Roxboro as you enter into the parking lot. Swim team has done a fantastic job following our parking plan and walking up and down Roxboro. Thank you!
