Roxboro Sharks / first practice is Monday May 15
Hello Roxboro Sharks,
The weather has been typical Atlanta early summer with great pool days and not so great pool days. Who knows what this week will bring?! If the weather turns iffy, please use your best judgement and make the best decision for your swimmer(s). Roxboro Valley is very lucky to have a pool in great working condition and a Board of Directors that supports our Swim & Dive Team programs. Our pool is heated to 84 degrees for the early weeks of the season.
Some things to bring with you to make sure your practice is successful are extra towels and warm, dry clothes to wear after practice. Swimming makes the kids really hungry and practice runs through the dinner hour so don’t forget snacks and drinks.
Parking is always a challenge at Roxboro. Please do not double park in our parking lot. Only park on the right side of Roxboro coming into the pool, we must keep one side of the street completely clear for traffic. Please do not block driveways or mailboxes.
Remember no need to rsvp for practice -- we are always happy to see you if you can come. The end of school is busy for everyone! If it was a rough day at school and snuggling up on the sofa seems the best medicine, do that. If you have a big exam tomorrow and need to study, do that. If you have yet another “end of year” banquet to attend, do that. Summer swim team is supposed to be fun for everyone and not a chore for anyone.
Pre-season, May/Afterschool practice schedule. Beginning Monday May 15 and ending Thursday May 25, every Monday-Thursday afternoon.

I have the swimsuits that were ordered pre-season and will begin distributing those at Monday’s practice. If you still need a swimsuit for your Shark, information is available on our website. We wear the TYR Alliance Splice 093. Team swimsuits are encouraged as they help our Sharks feel and look like a team. If you choose not to buy the team suit, we do suggest a black or royal blue suit, one piece for the girls and snug fitting for the boys. The highly anticipated RVA Sharks Swim Team t-shirts will be distributed the week of May 22 to those that registered before April 15.
