Hello Sharks,

RSVP for the upcoming meet against Mountaire now!.  The rsvp deadline is Friday, June 9 at 5pm.  This is a firm deadline. Mountaire is located at 75 Bonnie Lane, Sandy Springs 30328.  The meet is on Tuesday June 13.  On deck arrival time for Roxboro Sharks is between 4:00 and 4:30pm, our warmups will start at 5pm and the meet will start at 5:30pm.  

Team Photos are scheduled for Wednesday June 14 at 9am.  We will line up for our team photo at 9am.  Our practices will then continue by age group and we will play games in the pool and have our usual post meet munchkins treats.  Individual or family photos are also available.  You can pay on deck to the photographer via check or credit card.  

Sharks Lap-a-thon for CHOA will be on Friday June 23 during your regularly scheduled age group practice.  This is for our 7/8's and older swimmers.  The 6&unders will have their usual Mini Meet at 11am.  I will have pledge forms on deck beginning Monday June 12.  

ASA Divisionals at Georgia Tech is on Thursday, June 29 at 9am.  The RSVP deadline for this meet is June 16 at 5pm. There will be no exceptions allowed to this deadline.  Please consider your commitment to the event carefully. Roxboro pays a per entry fee for our swimmers and this is non-refundable.  If your swimmer commits and then does not show this will not only forfeit the fees but also jeopardize any relays they may have been scheduled to swim.  One swimmer's no show will impact the other three swimmers in the relay.  Everyone is welcome to swim this meet, it is an exciting big meet with over 40 teams and a chance to swim in the pool used for NCAA championships, the 1996 summer olympics and other great swimming events.  Top finishers in the combined times of this and four other sessions will returen on Saturday July 1 for the ASA Finals.  If you have any questions, please ask Jennifer Entrekin or Jennifer Clifton.

Swim Practice age group guidelines must be adhered to by all swimmers.  Each practice is designed for specific age groups. The coaches work hard to give instruction, motivation and challenge to every swimmer based on age and ability. Please do not allow your younger swimmers to join the older age groups or your older swimmers to join the younger groups. The only exceptions are based on invitation by the Head Coach.  If Coach Jennifer sees a potential for a younger swimmer to benefit by "swimming up" she will speak to the parent individually and privately. Now, from me the mom of five, I know it can be difficult and challenging to come for a 9am practice for one child and then have to wait for 11am for another child's practice.  It is hard.  I know, really I do.  But, the swim practice schedule has been set based on a number of factors and it works.  We will not adjust it every season to accommodate a few and then have to re-adjust it the following season when those same families age up.  

SharkPups​ remaining sessions have been cancelled.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have cancelled the remaining sessions for the weeks of June 12 and June 19.  This was a difficult decision and was not made lightly.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.  If you are interested in private swim lessons for your swimmers, please contact any of our assistant or junior coaches.  All Roxboro coaches are lifeguard certified and many of them do offer private swim lessons.
