I apologize for the confusion associated with the timing of tonight's evening practice.  I had made a typo on the original pdf calendar that I distributed to the parents and coaches in January.  I think that was the root of the confusion.

The correct schedule for evening practice is Monday and Thursday evening with the following schedule:

6&Unders 6-6:30 pm

7&8 6:30 - 7:15 pm

9&10,11 & up 7:15 - 8:00  pm

I got lots of questions about practice times today.  Let me try to answer a few--

The practice schedule works around the general pool schedule.  If the pool is open during the day, we shift practice to 6-8 to allow the afternoon time for general RVA members. 

Several people have asked why the 7&8s practice at 9 and the 6 unders not until 11:00.  Again that is a situation that works with the pool schedule.  The pool can be half open when the 6 and Unders practice.  Yes we could move the oldest kids earliest--but we wouldn't see many of them for practice if we did!  Also, if feels like tons of people are in that split boat of a 5 year old child and a 7 year old child.  But just as many have children split among other practice times. 

 So... for this year it will not be changed. That said, I will make a point of reconsidering practice times for next year and you are welcome to send me any suggestions that you may have on that topic.

In the meantime, I encourage you to find a friend to trade off with.  All swimmers who have not passed the RVA swim test must have a responsible adult on deck for them during their practice times.  But it doesn't not have to be their parent.  Trade out with a friend...or bring books, snacks and games to pass the time and enjoy the summer morning by the pool!
