We also have evening practice Monday & Thursday with the following schedule.

    6&Unders 6-6:30 pm 7&8 6:30 - 7:15 9&10,11 & up 7:15 - 8:00

These first few communications will be detailed and lengthy.  Please read carefully…..

I will be sending e-mails about the team through this website. https://roxborosharks.swim-team.us/ If you are getting more copies than you prefer (ie mom and dad are both receiving and you only want one copy or you have a teenage swimmer and you would like them to receive e-mails too) you can go in on your parent page (drop down from your name on the right) and edit who receives team e-mails.  Don’t forget to Save!

Our first dual meet is coming up quick on Tuesday, May 31st at Roxboro.  The meet starts promptly at 5:30  p.m. with a 4:00 arrival.  The home team will warm up at 4:30 with the visiting team hitting the water at 5:00.  Please see the recent RVA e-mail concerning parking for specifics about how to park and please try to carpool.  More info about the specifics of the meet will be sent next week.

Please go to the Sharks swim team website, roll over the calendar to the day of the meet and click on RSVP.  There you can mark your swimmer YES or NO for your swimmer. In the past I’ve said we’ve not asked you to RSVP No.  With this new website, I’ve changed my mind. (Sorry swim team managers have that prerogative!!)  Please RSVP WHETHER YOU ARE A YES OR A NO.  That’s the best way to make sure we have everyone accounted for.   We will close RSVPs at the end of the day on Friday prior to a meet.  If your RSVP status changes after that time, please contact Christopher at [email protected] or cell # 404-275-9685.

I’ve had some people ask if 5 & 6 year olds should swim in the dual meet.  They should if they can comfortably make it down the length of the pool.  If they can’t, it may be best to wait until after a mini meet/more experience to have them swim in a dual meet.  If you have any questions about should they or shouldn’t they, please discuss with Coach Christopher.  (Our first Mini meet will be NEXT week on June 3rd)

If you have a swimmer in this meet, please sign up to volunteer.  I suspect our attendance will be light at the first meet so please be prepared that we may need to ask you to work longer than half the meet.  Tracy Noble (Volunteer Coordinator) and I appreciate your cooperation and support in helping the meet run smoothly.

Please contact me if you are having trouble navigating the SHARKS website.

    All for now- Thanks!

    Stacey
